An active lava flow on the pali at Kilauea seen on January 25, 2013. Hopefully we'll get to see small breakouts like these! Image: HVO/USGS. Alright, I'm off bright and early this morning on our department trip to Hawai'i! Most likely there will not be any new posts until March 18, but be sure to keep track of my twitter feed, either by following @eruptionsblog or checking out the sidebar to the right on this page. I'll be trying to post images and observations from the Hawaiian volcanoes throughout our trip. Feel free to use this post as an open forum for any other volcanic events that happen while I'm away (and we all know what seems to happen when I can't post easily). Catch you after the break!
