I know that many of you have been, ahem, frustrated with aspects of the commenting system here on Wired. I have to admit that Disqus looked to be a little more robust than it actually is when I first tested it. I am as new with Disqus as many of you are, so I don't know what all the tricks to get it to behave as we'd like might be - and the Disqus system is set up across all of Wired, so a change would be across not only just Eruptions, but also everyplace else on Wired. Now, that is a bit of a non-answer for your problems, however, I can say that improves will be made after an upgrade of Wordpress occurs across the site in the near future. In the meantime, I apologize for the problems and hope that we can make Disqus work as well as we can and I will try to see what changes can be made right now to alleviate the situation. Thanks for your patience and willingness to let me know when things aren't working the way they should. If you do have any additional problems, feel free to email me (eruptionsblog at gmail) or, well, leave a comment! UPDATE: The comments have now changed so that it will automatically load 80 comments and that they comments are timestamped with the submission time rather than a relative time.
