Thanksgiving Break!

I'm off to Massachusetts tomorrow for Thanksgiving Break - and with that, I'll be disappearing from the blog for most of next week. Unless something big happens, expect the next new post on November 28. It has been an exhausting but thrilling fall for me, so I think I need the time away. If you're keeping on eye on the most consistently active (and in the news) locations, all is quiet on most fronts. The activity at El Hierro has subsided since the nearly Surtseyan activity of a week ago while Etna has gone back to sleep since its 18th paroxysm of 2011. Over at Puyehue-Cordón Caulle, the ash from the eruption (see above) continues to cause some problems. However, all three volcanoes may spring back at any point, so keep watching the El Hierro, Etna and Puyehue-Cordon Caulle webcams (or any of the volcano webcams of the world) for the action.
