Rep. Darrell Issa had appeared to be backing down from the idea of investigating "ClimateGate" as chair of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. And that was good news. But here's a recent report that Rep. Ralph Hall, who heads the Science Committee, and or Rep. Sensenbrenner (who's on that committee) are not giving up:
"There are doubts about the quality of the climate science," Hall said yesterday. "I think those really ought to be wiped aside or confirmed. ... I think the American people are entitled to have some testimony." Hall said his vice chairman, Rep. James Sensenbrenner (R-Wis.), an outspoken climate skeptic who served as ranking member on the recently disbanded Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming, will take the lead on the issue.
I would be more concerned about Issa--but this is worrisome enough. Remember, though--you mess with one climate scientist, you mess with every climate scientist. Let's hope solidarity isn't needed, but it's definitely on offer.
