Tungurahua in Ecuador The middle of October means it is time again for Donors Choose. Those of you unfamiliar with Donors Choose, it is our chance to raise money for classroom projects around the country - all of this to help support science, maths, the arts and much more. I like to find good volcano projects to support and this year I found two! First is Mrs. Henderson's 6th grade class in Morrilton, Arkansas. Her class wants to build models of volcanoes as to better understand how they work and their features. Sounds like a good project to me - especially because they're asking for a model of Mount St. Helens! The second is Mrs. McGonigle's class in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her 6th grade class wants to each build a volcano model so they can get hands on with what they see in volcano documentaries. It will take $504 to fully fund Mrs. Henderson's class and $477 to fully fund Mrs. McGonigle's class. That is almost $1000 worth of donations - but it is well worth it as Earth Sciences is woefully underrepresented in our public schools. If you can spare some money to donate, I'm sure these classes (and I) would greatly appreciate it -
head over to my Donors Choose Page to make a donation between today and November 5
