Well, I really messed up that Mystery Volcano Photo, eh? I had, in fact, posted that very image before of Kirishima to show the "before" of the crater [head slap - see top left for "after" image]. Yes, Eruptions reader Mike L. submitted the image, taken in 1990. We'll give Don Crain credit for getting the location/date of my slip up right - and half a point to Eva for getting the location as well.

So, the current standings

  • Boris Behncke - 6

  • Don Crain - 5

  • The Bobs - 4

  • gijs - 2

  • Chris Reykjavik - 2

  • Doug C. - 2

  • volcanista - 1

  • Lockwood - 1

  • Elizabeth - 1

  • Ralph - 1

  • Anne - 1

  • Cam - 1

  • gg - 1

  • Damon Hynes - 1

  • Marco - 1

  • Diane - 1

  • Stephen - 1

  • MK, Alberta - 1

  • Kultsi - 1

  • Henrik - 1

  • Zane - 1

  • Rodger Wilson - 1

  • Robin Campion - 1

  • Jan Nygard - 1

  • Eva Hedstrom - 0.5

To make up for my mistake, I'll leave you with a new MVP that should be more of a challenge. For this, you need the location in the image, when it formed and why this is a mystery volcano photo - as specific as possible. Good luck (and I know I have posted this one before!)
