I did an interview with reporter Maria Sciullo of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette a few days ago, and her article is now online. I'm glad she talked to Anthony Aveni; I'm reading his book The End of Time: The Maya Mystery of 2012 and it's a great review of the Mayans, their astronomy, and their complete lack of predicting a doomsday in 2012. I'm sure I'll get some doomcriers in the comments. If you really think the Mayan calendar says the world will end in 2012, then I strongly urge you to read Aveni's book. He's an actual Mayan scholar, he knows his stuff, and he's not out to either scare you or reassure you: he's out to tell the truth.
