I'm busy at a meeting and I can't post much, so I just want to give folks a heads-up that the latest (June) issue of Sky and Telescope magazine has an article I wrote about different ways the Earth can be destroyed by astronomical events (don't worry too much; I also say they are all really unlikely). It's written as a light-hearted narrative as The Astronomer tries to sell a movie script idea to The Studio Executive. It is not autobiographical! :-) There's also an article about famed astronomical artist Chesley Bonestell, and it has several paintings I had not seen before-- again, about death from the skies. It's a fun article! Well, as fun as destruction on a global scale can be.'
