io9 is saying that the old 1960s Gerry Anderson show "U.F.O." may be made into a movie. I'm not sure how to feel about this. I loved this show as a kid, and I think it could be reimagined (with very little change, in fact) to match today's sensibilities. The idea that the head of a secret and underfunded government agency who knows that aliens want to invade Earth, has to cover it all up, but can't seem to get his superiors to take him seriously is pretty cool. And of course, it has this awesome opening sequence: Hmmm, looking at that with an adult eye, it's really sexist. Sign of the times, I guess. I have only vague memories of the later episodes, but I do remember a strong female lead who kicked some butt, but I think I'll see if I can dig up the show someplace online or on DVD. I'm flying quite a bit in the coming months, and that's always the easiest time for me to kick back with videos. Maybe I need to connect with my inner geek. Not that I have one, I tend to have mostly an outer geek. You might have noticed.
