https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6hD52H7rQak Massive bursts of energy and magnetic fields from the sun play an integral part in shaping the climate here on Earth, and NASA recently earned acclaim for its 3-D visualization of the sun's influence on our planet. The animated video shows our sun’s powerful magnetic energy and Earth’s strong magnetic fields that drive the winds and ocean currents that form our planet’s climate. The narrated movie, “Dynamic Earth,” took complex, state-of-the-art computational models from research institutions across the United States to create a high-resolution visualization of our universe for the big screen, which is now playing at planetariums around the world. Oh and did we say, it's narrated by Liam Neeson? Yeah you should probably watch it. Right now. The video was a first place winner in the annual International Science and Engineering Visualization Challenge, sponsored by the journal Science and the U.S. National Science Foundation.
