Spotted yesterday in Hollywood while on my bike to work: Very clean and shiny new black BMW 7 series with the plates:

MATHPMP

Was right next to it at the traffic lights, but a valiant scrabble in my front pannier did not turn up the camera quickly enough. It is usually ready for occasions such as this, but this time was under the emergency raincoat I'd decided to stuff into the bag -which of course I never used all day, and so got soaked twice on campus. Anyway, does this mean there are both lucrative and lurid applictions of a mathematics education of which I'd hitherto not been aware? How exciting! Or does the proud driver sinply own a staff of street corner mathematics tutors? Inquiring minds need to know. -cvj
