Last week I posted about meteorites in Kansas, with a Superman slant. However, there is quite a bit more to the story. The festival in honor of the meteorites is being hosted by... wait for it... creationists! Amazingly, the vast amount of evidence in meteorites themselves that the Universe is old is being ignored by creationists, who are ironically using these as a celebration of the Young Earth. Of course, listing the ironies of creationism would use up the whole internet. Anyway, Josh Rosenau of the great blog Thoughts from Kansas has a lot more on this issue. He's talked to people on "both sides" of this and has all manners of interesting, uh, thoughts from Kansas about it.
