Dear "Intersection Readers": As some of you already know, I'm fortunate enough to be a fellow this year in MIT's Knight Science Journalism Program. In this, I have 11 distinguished "classmates": Other mid career science journalists (actually I may be the youngest) who are taking classes at Harvard and MIT to broaden their skill set. It's a time of deep transition in science journalism, so we're all glad to be getting a breather--and learning new skills. As far as the latter project goes, one important aspect of the program is to venture into new and unknown media realms; I, for example, want to learn more about visual media. But at the same time, as I am kinda the blogger of the class, I've offered to my colleagues the opportunity to see what online science communication is like via this blog. They have carte blanche to be guest posters, and indeed, we already have one cool Knight Fellow guest post in the pipeline (for Monday). So with this post, I simply want to get you ready for some new voices--please welcome them!
