The bloggers are beginning to talk about the book, and some even to quote it at length. I gather they've gotten it on their Kindles. For commentary see James Hrynyshyn, the Daily Doubter, and curricublog. After quoting some of the key opening passages from the book, Hrynyshyn writes, "It's frustrating to recognize that if we do manage to get a climate bill through Congress, it will be despite, not because of, the convictions of millions of Americans." To which I replied in his comments:
Let me just give another twist on your last statement: "if we do manage to get a climate bill through Congress, it will be despite, not because of, the news media." They're a very, very large party in this.
Of course, Unscientific America has much more on the deadly disconnects between science and the press, and how these are only getting worse. Amazon, by the way, is now listing the book as in stock, rather than available for pre-order. So I guess those are going to start shipping soon, if they haven't already. The official pub date isn't until July 13, but inevitably, books get out well before then. We're also expecting more tour news soon. Stand by!
